You don't need to outdo the competition. It's expensive and defensive.
Underdo your competition. We need more simplicity and clarity

-Jason Fried, Keynote Speech, SXSW 2006

Well, you can see why his last name is Fried, but that is the perfect explanation of how I am feeling now.

The friend e-mailed me. It has 10 (yes 10) of the things to do done (depressing isn't it?) Right now, I am underdoing the friend!

I have decided that salads will be my topic for tonight. Salads and shopping. I have several unique views on salads. There are salads that are good for you, and salads that are actually puddings, but are called salads to get over the guilt trip. I had some of both today.

That brings us to shopping. Did you hear about how Target tied that poor guy up above Times Square and told him to get out before tomorrow (Friday) morning? In my opinion they should have tied his wife up, she would have had more incentive. The reason why there are so many people who shop the day after Thanksgiving is so they can walk (or run, or push, or shove, or murder) off their calories that they chalked up the day before. It's true. The friend is getting up at an outrageously early hour and is going to shop all day long.

That is boring.

So, in that view, I am winning, because the friend has become boring. (I feel a nasty e-mail coming from the friend.)

Enough of me. Have a great evening.
